question for those running Progessive shocks
08/08/15 at 12:13:13

My wife finally agreed to let me build her a custom.  One of the things on my list is to go with new rear shocks.  I have read as much as i could find on the forum about the change out to Progressive shocks.  I am planning to go with 11.5" which should give about a 1" lift to the back end as I understand it.

My question is this.  For those who have switched do you find the 412 series to be an upgrade to the stockers or are they basically the same quality?  The 418's are discontinued so the next step up is the 430 series.  I don't know whether that is worth the extra money.  I have found one online site that sells them as competitive as anyone and I can get the 430s for about $130 more than the 412's.

thoughts?

I don't have an answer to your question (still running stockers), but a link would nice. I'm considering the same thing.  Smiley

There's no problem that a full tank of gas and a sunny day can't fix!

I got a set of 412-4005 but they are too soft for my 230 bulk.
I have to use the 5th setting even on the light wt. bobber.
They do seem to be a step up, but that may be due to the 2" travel instead of 1.5"

I'm currently using 440-2022 and they are better than the 412's.
every major bump that would ring my bell with the stocker or would be uncomfortable with the 412's are gone with the 440's.
