If the stock vacuum petcock was acting up, it could have been flowing fuel down the vacuum line and giving the bike too much fuel - or it could have been failing to provide enough fuel when you opened up the throttle.

Either way....it is possible that the bike runs better if the fuel is going to the carb properly.

e area of a 3/8" hole is 0.1104 square inches.
The area of a 5/16" hole is 0.0767 square inches.
The area of a 1/4" hole is 0.0491 square inches.

Probably not just you.

I'm still confused about why people risk this hassle. We see it about every few weeks. Avoid the risk, support local business, keep your money moving through the local economy and spend five bucks. And there's no waiting and no CC number used over the phone. And, you can ride to get it unless your petcock is too screwy to even ride. Of course calling in advance to check price and availability is always good. I didn't ride, I took it in, laid it on the counter and compared.
