Dime City Cycles has a nice selection of cool grips for 1" and 7/8"if you're interested.

Thanks gizzo...I looked around their stock of 7/8" grips and found about the same as everywhere else. 93 pairs of off-road types and 6 pair of road style.

I may not have worded my issue very well originally. I'm looking for a grip with a much wider diameter, similar to the diameter of a 1" cruiser grip....but with 7/8" holes in them. THAT is what seems impossible to find.

Even the billet aluminium old-school type grips for 7/8" bars are quite skinny around the middle.

Yeah you're right, the only grips I know of that are suppossed to be the OD similar to that of 1" grips for 7/8s bars are Biltwell's Kung Fu Grips, and they do look like dirt bike grips

Looks like Mtn bike grips. Comfortable, wear fast. Simple to change. You can buy aluminum throttle bodies in 7/8". With different changes in the Cam. Shorter pull for faster throttle pull ( race, mx), Or smaller cam, for a more gradual pull ( enduro, rough sections wear traction is premium ).
