Upgraded to a VStar 1100

Im not leaving the forum cause I have alot of parts to sell but I sold my silver 2003 savage and am now selling my black 2002 savage.
These bikes got me back on the saddle after a nice crash I had ona klr650.

I used the silver savage for 1500 miles then sold it for 200 less then i bought it for because i got a killer deal on a 2002.

I tried doing the chain conversion becase anywhere you drive on Long island you're on the highway doing atleast 60mph, the 1100 is a nice midsize class bike.

2 cylinder instead of 1, 600 lbs instead of the lightweight savage feels nice on the higways. Lots of chrome which I have to wipe off daily acter touching it with my greasy hands  Grin bikes great, 2003 with only 12k miles.

I already replaced the mufflers for something with a bit more growl and added some nice big saddlebags.

Now I have to sell all the extras I have from the other bike
Eg. Corvin seat, Mac muffler, and i have a whole bunch of other parts from a savage im parting out

What yall think?

I think I'm jealous, except at oil change time
of course that's made up for by the hydraulic valve adjusters
Congrats!

I am actually due to adjust the vales this friday, I'll attempt this myself which doesn't seem too dificult.

I did an oil change when I first got the bike and its not that bad, the from cylinder muffler needs to be removed to get to the oil filter but that takes an exta 10min.

I thought the valves on the big v stars were hydraulic, no need to adjust  Huh

Nice looking bike. For years I have been looking at both the VStar 1100 and the Shadow Spirit 1100. Let us know how you like the new bike and what kind of mpg you average. Happy riding! Grin Grin Grin

The V Star 1100 is a nice bike. Have fun changing the oil since you have to drop the front header/muffler to change the filter out. Otherwise they are great. I had 67,000 on my V Star 1100 Classic when I traded it in on a HD Street Glide.

I grew up on LI, was born in Bay Shore and lived there until I moved to NC in '94. Drove the LIE and spent many many summers at Robert Moses beach and Fire Island. You couldnt PAY me to drive a bike on Long Island.

30 miles wide and about 120 miles long and has 7 MILLION people on it. When I lived there it was 4 million and the traffic was murderous.

That being said, nice bike. Not my style because I'm not into wide rides, but still a nice bike.

Best of luck to you!
