“ … what kinda riding are you wanting …”
In 1978, had a Auction on a huge MC place in Mpls.
This, ‘owner’ screwed, 'everybody’, he could.
(Thus the forced sale by the IRS/SBA/Local bank)
Their was a New G.W. on the floor, with ALL the Bells & Whistles,
he had 2,995.00 on it.
He, ’Sold’, it, 1,000’s of times.
Each time, a 100.00 - 250.00 down, some even $500.00 down.
with a receipt which he wrote out, which had, Everything on the bike,
and ALL the info about you.
Just missing ‘one tinny little thing’, The VIN of the Bike !!!!!!!!!!
(He did this on Several Bikes)
Their was ONE, bike, (the person who make the Down Payment on,
Insisted on putting the VIN, on his Down Payment recite).
The bank called, said to release it.
(He went to the bank, paid for it in full)
Told the bank, will be at the, ‘office’, (12 miles from the, Auction site,) the next day.
Guess who, got to drive it over !!!!!!!!!
A Bran New, 1978 Yamaha XS650, State of the art!
I think it took 25 miles to get their !
It is something that sticks in my memory.
Been looking for one for a long time.
But only finding, POS, Run down, rusted out, wore out, crap,
which are grossly over priced.
Or some, ‘re-make’, into a ‘bobber’ or ‘cafe racer’.
(Nothing wrong with those, just not what I want)
Also looked at ’new’, Triumphs/Endfields, (old style ones)
But spendy, hard to find the ‘expensive parts, (if needed),
And, not, ‘Hop on and go’.
Turned my attention to the TU-250.
Looked at others, (not driven them)
Rebel/Virgo, in 250, just not appealing.
Looking for, ‘retro’, with, ’new’, convinces.
From experience, a 250 single, (D/S/’s)
in, most cases, is very lacking for, ’State Hwy’s”
But for County Roads, they worked well.
(Well outside of the loose fillings in my teeth !)
So if no, TU-250 Experience, then so be it.
May have to find a used one, and try it out for a year.
