Need some direction here. Got a 97 Savage, chopped it down with the BCB kit and cleaned out the carb last week to get it running after it sat idle for three years. It runs well now though rpm a little high at idle (I'm still adjusting that).
I was going to take it in this morning to get my tags renewed but found a new problem that I can't isolate:
When I tilt the bike upright off the stand I hear a quiet hissing sound for about 2 seconds, then it's silent. This is when the bike is both cool and warmed up - and I've only heard it when the bike is turned off. It also doesn't happen every time I stand the bike up...
For the life of me I can't find it because it's so short and hard to reliably reproduce the sound.
All I can tell is that it's forward of the saddle. So I'm looking at engine, fork, breaks, tank, and tire. I think I've eliminated the tire and it does't seem to be coming from the tank either.
Has anyone run into something similar? If I can't track it down this week then I may call defeat and take it to a shop
