carb tuning based on altitude
07/13/15 at 07:31:51
I saw a post that gave list of jets to run based on altitude, the other day. I can't track it down. I have opened up the exhaust, and need to jet accordingly. I tried search, but can't seem to find the post that had recommendations all laid out.
Help?
I am in Kansas City, Google say we are ≈ 1,000 above sea level.

+1...
I notice a difference every 2500 to 5000ft depending on humidity...
1000ft is practically sea level...

I am planning on K&N filter, and the exhaust is straight through glass pack. Will I have enough adjustment in the air / fuel screw alone?

You will not have enough adjustment in the air / fuel screw alone...

I don't know if anyone can conclusively say one way or the other with the info that you've provided.
Even if you set your jets to what someone else used they don't have your equipment.

I realize it is not a guaranteed perfect fitment.
What other information should I be providing? 2006 S-40, 14K miles, stock when purchased. 1.75 thrush glass pack installed.
First bike. 6'0 250 rider. Looking for mileage, efficiency, power.
Next up will be either a drop in air filter, or air box upgrade of some sort.
