Has any body done a single carb, single exhaust parallel twin?

Not single exhaust, but remember the 60s Triumph Trophy 650 with a single big Amal Monoblock carburetor? It was a low compression, durable utility bike. Folks used to say it was much easier to keep running right than the Bonnie. As a kid I drooled for one.

Yep, the current and all 250cc rebels in the USA (Aus uses two smaller carbs)
I think some of the old Brits used a single carb too
Sonny beat me to it
Also, he made me drool
two cylinder single carb 650 standard? yum!

One BIGGO piston, and you're gonna get some Biggo changes in the powertrain.
Remember the recent belt break?

Id have a look at the hub and the torque soaking rubbers.

You're probably right...... Cheesy. Here's a fun read.

I admit I already knew about the Bison 2000 but didn't want to mention it on this thread lest y'all think I was crazy or a big single ideologue or suffering from Obsessive Compulsive Displacement disorder or something.

Okay, I'm going outside to run up my Cox .049 glo plug model plane engine now. It helps me relax.  ;-'

There's no problem that a full tank of gas and a sunny day can't fix!

Here's another link to the bike that Gizzo posted. I couldn't get the pic to load on that link.

I had a .010. Fuel it up, put the clip on the glow plug  , fire it up and hold it by the tank...

Dooo whuu? Cox engines, out of production. I bought the.010 at Tinker AFB.
Never even put it on a plane. Just held it and smelled it. Nothing much beats methanol burning..

The Babe Bee reed valve .049 and the exotic Tee Dee .010 with the cool intake venturi port facing forward... it all comes back. They made a Tee Dee .049 too, but it was expensive and nobody I knew had one. I made a 2 x 4 block test stand to run the Babe Bee on, and flew it on a number of control line planes. Great times.

I didn't know the Cox company was gone. I guess electric RC spelled the end for them. Sad.

The fuel was nitromethane, methanol and castor oil. A smell for the ages when it burned (and the blow by coated your hand and model), with a very high energy content indeed. Those things scream. The .049 pulled amazingly hard with a good propeller.

I introduced my son to .049 control line flying in the '90s but it didn't absorb him like it did me back around 1960. I guess the world had changed... he always looked kinda sideways at it like it was some old school thing of dad's which made it uncool.

I wonder what would happen if you doped a full tank of gas on the Savage with about an ounce of Cox nitro fuel. Ahem.

I still have (I think  Undecided) an old P51 that I never got to fly when I was ~10. The darn thing just never would crank. I might still have some 30+ year old fuel left!  Cheesy

You prob got a bad glow plug. They were prone to breakage of the little coil of heater wire up in there. You always had to keep a spare handy. Then, with a good battery and a good glow plug they'd start and run every time. And last a long time, considering they ran up around 20K rpm wide open... the castor oil kept everything clean and slippery.
