time to pull cash out now - Greece limits ATMs

While I am certain that many will point out ( and rightly so) that US banking and Greece banking are not at all similar: According to this news report.. Banks and ATMs are closed as of this morning. When the ATMs re-open there will be be a 60 euro limit per day.

I am experiencing a deepening distrust of the banking system these days.

How much can you trust the bank?
At least you own the mattress.
The banks are closed,,
Not uncommon for that to happen in an economy thats about to crash.

The governor and his chief of staff were unable to comment,
That's not good.

Puerto Rico, is a United States territory located in the northeastern Caribbean, east of the Dominican Republic, and west of both the United States Virgin... wikipedia.org
I don't know what that means legally/economically. Is that like someone cosigning a note? Are we sposedta bail them out? What about Michigan, or
maybe just Detroit? Who is gonna bail us out?
Pardon me? Teacher? I have a question...
If every nation is in debt,, how does that happen?
Say six of us sit down and play poker.
At the end of it, someone, maybe five, will be in debt... but not all six.
If I owe Ralph fifty and jim owes me fifty,I could let Jim pay Ralph.
So, think before you answer.

House got robbed... they now have to break into a vault. But, in a way you kinda prove my point... how sad that I would trust my money NOT being in a bank as much as I would trust it being IN one. I wish I could buy some land, but thats WAAAY above my pay grade.
JOG: the poker analogy.. really isn't that great. YOu would need to add that each poker player came to the table to begin with borrowed money, and upon existing the table had to pay his debts plus interest. So no matter who "wins" there be a whole lotta hurting for a whole lotta folks.

Puerto Rico with a population of 3.5 Million and debt of $72 Billion at a rate of 10.8%. The taxpayers of P.R. are on the hook for all that $$$ unless A) the territory of P.R. declares bankruptcy, or B) someone (read Washington D.C.) bails them out . For some unknown reason I can not see the "investors" (A.K.A. Wall Street) allowing option "A" to happen, at least not while they control the "political contributions" to Congress.....
My curiosity is aroused as to "who" and "how" (in) the territorial government this bond debt was allowed to increase to this level ????

At this point, it is pretty much a race to bottom. Nearly every central bank is printing unprecedented amounts of $$, and our saving grace is being the reserve currency. However, that is why Russia & China have been buying record amounts of gold for the past 5 years. In 5 + years there is no telling....
