Shadow vs Van

Well Shadow and I had a close call.
A van in the left lane decided she not
only needed to be in my lane she also
needed the far left lane.
I laid on the horn and let off the throttle
as the horn did nothing to delay her from
progressing to the lane.
Had I not been paying attention she would
have come over right on top of us.
I drive as defensively as I can.
In cases like this, I so want to follow them and
let them know just how close they came to injuring
myself and bike, then again, I let it go and hope they
get their heads of out of their arses someday..

close call, glad you made it
Riders are better drivers, due to learning to watch cagers who drive around in a daydream
The horn on the savage is a joke tbh, if I believed a horn did any good I'd replace it with a Fiamm right out of the gate
It really is hard to know if it'd be worth it to say anything, some folks get defensive and even aggressive when you tell them, like it's your fault they weren't paying attention

One of the first things you learn when you ride a motorcycle is the art of Defensive Driving.  When you are on the road look around and think "What is the stupidest thing they could do, and what should I do to avoid an accident ?????"    That has kept me out of trouble more times than I want to remember..
As to following and commenting on the furball's driving skills, Don't bother. "A wise person never argues with a fool.  A casual observer will not be able to tell which is which."     Undecided             Of course there was my drunken ex-room mate, "ole weird Johnson", who upon seeing the car that had almost hit him that AM in the parking lot, opened the driver's side door and "watered" the (cloth) driver's seat, closed the windows, and locked the doors.  I remember that it was a hot day too.

I watch front tires. Especially when they are at a stop sign.
The top of the tire moves twice as fast as the bumper.
I'm not against letting someone know that they forced me into emergency evasive action. Done right it Can alert someone who BELIEVES THAT they are a
Really Good Driver
and dont want to hurt you,, that They almost had an At Fault accident.
I know, its not easy to do it right. And some people, there IS noright way to tell them.
I nearly ran ova biker , he looked at me angrily, I followed him home, not close, just so I could keep him in sight. I explained I was a rider, first, askif he had had that happen there before.. ,,
Yeah, all the time,, right there..
He was riding by the curb, and the sidewalk had a hedge, and he was Hiding
From the drivers at the stop sign.
We parted with smiles, handshakes and his new understanding of the importance of choosing lane position, being visible.

Staying visible while droning along on the slab? Move around in your lane,
