Muffler question
06/21/15 at 15:36:27
The inlet to my new muffler has a 2" diameter inlet and the header is just a little over 1 3/4". What is the best way to mate them. Other than a glass of wine and a little Viagra

You can buy adapters... E-bay or a local auto store, etc...
You'll need 2 clamps...

Id know how I wanted them lined up and take them to a muffler shop or two. If you don't have a solid Tclamp, look that up. Hose clamps just aren't enough and the u bolt clamp is just ugly.

You could use a reducer. A Google search for "Muffler reducer exhaust shim" should turn up some useful results.

Rag,
You are better off going to an independent muffler shop and having them make an adapter. The adapter needs about a 7 degree bend in it so the muffler lines up with the bracket that it attaches to and doesn't send all of the exhaust to the rear brake drum.
There are a lot of posts on muffler adapters in the technical section.
