My other Suzuki......

Rescued this old boat a few years ago. Its a 1959 Glasspar Seafair.
She is all hand-laid fiberglass, not chop and shot like today, over a mold.

I found the 85HP Suzuki on Craigslist.
The guys couldn't get it running after hurriedly removing it from a boat they had for sale. The new buyer didn't want the motor, only the boat, but he wanted it then....
they swore it ran when removed, but after a year of messing with it, he gave up.
I got it for 500 bucks, complete with all the controls and gauges, however, they cut the cables, etc.
Uh, that was a clue.
Yep, I found an internal fuse had blown I suspect when they went a cutting.
Replaced it, turned the key, WHAM, Huston, we got liftoff  Grin
They said they disconnected the oil injection, and were running a 50-1 mix from the tank.
Wrong....
I mean, yes they were, but the injection system was intact, just so plugged up oil would not flow, WHICH, made the alarm go off, dummies.

I cleaned and replaced flow switch, filters, etc.

I am ready to put her in the water this weekend....

Should be fun.

Lots of dungeness crab and salmon will be coming my way soon  Kiss

Looks like a right match for that size boat.
Where exactly you planning to run it?
PNW covers a lot.

JOG, I live on Whidbey Island, if you google that you'll see it. I live all the way down on the southwest tip of the island, looking toward Seattle.
I ride the ferry everyday to Everette, work on the 787.
BTW, a very awesome plane. If you get a chance to ride one, do it, the best riding commercial aircraft ever built.

Buy or borrow a trolling motor just in case the Suzi decides it needs more attention. Those boats are tiring to paddle.

Thanks all....

She ran great  Cheesy

Feels so much bigger than my Boston Whaler, and rides really smooth.

The motor pushed her to about 30, and I still had more throttle.

Just need to run all my electrical now, etc, and get ready for the crab opener in a few weeks.
