Belt Tension questions
05/21/15 at 17:38:44

Is the rear drive belt tension procedure different between a stock S40 and a RYCA CS-1?

I saw the tension tips where it states rotate the belt +/- 90 deg.,
Thanks

Just a little looser to account for the added shock travel...

When I wanted a feel for what to do.....I looked up what was listed as the shortest distance on my shocks when fully compressed, and then with the shocks removed I used my floor jack to lower the bike so I had that distance between the shock mounts.  Then I tightened the belt snug....then put the shocks back on and established that as my "how tight" feel.

The belt is a bit looser than on the normal Savage, as the swing arm is angled and tightens the belt when the shocks are compressed.  You can move the bottom of the belt up and down a little bit pretty easily when the bike is on the kick stand.
