Quick...grip question
05/21/15 at 14:13:44

I'm thinking about new grips for my controls...
What have others here used?

I want to just swap out the grips not get the whole throttle sleeve and all...will the throttle side need to be a larger ID to slide over the throttle sleeve and are there any iso grips that just slide on?

thinking about these...

Thx!

A pair of grips comes as a left and right... The right is thinner to go over the throttle sleeve... The left is thicker to make them the same size...
Just but 1" grips and they'll work...

Thanks!
I think I've decided on these...my hands sometimes cramp up so i think having something bigger to hold onto might help...

I have those biltwell grips in oxblood color. Personally I really like them. They will wear a bit faster than some other hard grips as described but good quality. Biltwell makes awesome stuff.

If you don't wear gloves, you might consider that. Hands down on asphalt, bad deal. A piece of gravel tossed by a car,, ouch.. Some gloves are gel padded in the palm, Lowes has them. Gripping too hard  can play into the cramping thing.

This may sound weird - but use WD40 to mount them.  Spray a bit inside the grip and rub it around, and a bit on the handlebar.....not drippy wet but just enough the grip can be slid on easily.  You can rotate and slide the grip where you want it....then let it sit for a bit..in the sun helps speed it up.  It might take a day but they will lock tightly onto the bars and not slip.  (Don't do this on foam grips...I am not sure it works on them).

I use rubbing alcohol the same way...makes them slick as snot for about 30 seconds, then evaporates away...

Thx all!
They should've here tomorrow...
I've always used Windex to get grips on! Works great!
