Need help removing an exhaust bolt. Mansfield, MA
05/14/15 at 10:08:26
When removing an exhaust stud over the fall, one of them broke. A friend of mine tried using an extractor and slotting it, but it won't come out. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I don't really want to replace the head if I don't NEED to.
I'm located in Mansfield, MA. So the closer to there you are, the better..I can't drive it like this.
Thanks!!

Do any of these links physically remove the bolt for me? Because that's what I'm looking for.

It's not gonna remove itself, and since you don't want to give it another go you'll have to ride or transport it to a shop. If it's not to buggered up they should be able to extract it. Otherwise they'll drill it and helicoil it.

+1
And I'll add, this is an expensive bit of metal. Bugger it up and you're screwed. Take it to a professional.

Id be looking around at machine shops. Look for one with a bike or two, ridden by employees. If you can ride it, take it and show it. If it's apart, take pics,
I have been wrenching on stuff for decades. I would be looking for help.
A mistake here would cost too much.

If you have trouble finding a "biker shop" try a shop that specializes in high performance or rare antique engines. (You would be surprised how easy it is to snap a stud, or a bolt, in an 80 year motor.)
