I'm planning a 400+ mile trip. Mostly highway and don't want to be so worn out I can't even enjoy the ride. Thanks!

I don't know your basis of comparison. Can you describe the vibration? Is it speed or rpm related? If it's speed related perhaps some thing is out of balance or loose.

Yeah it's in the hands. I'll take a look at the mounts. I think it may be rpm related. I noticed it vibrating a little when I was riding at 35 mph in 2nd gear to try and keep the battery charged on a short trip. I think I may have a short in my wiring somewhere, however, because it's almost like my battery is dying more overnight rather than stop and go trips(although, it does kill it in that scenario too lol). That's a topic for another thread though. But yeah, almost positive it's got more to do with rpms than speed and definitely in the hands. So... upper motor mounts near the tank?

Yup I would start a thread on that.... and post all your modifications or non-OEM stuff while you are at it. It will help with the trouble shooting, everyone will have to do in their heads

I had a Norton/Matchless P11 that required constant checking of all the bolts due to vibration. My Yamaha XT 500 was about the same as the S40. Perhaps see if you can ride someone else's Savage to compare with.
