need help
04/30/15 at 13:21:16

Ls650 savage is my first bike, I am having trouble with figuring out what is going on with it. I have put a new battery in and spark plug oil change and filter. but my issue is that when I am going down the road it starts bogging out and dies on me. I have cleaned the carb/jet twice already and it is still doing this :'(. can someone give me some advice.

It's nothing

Welcome!  How old, and how many miles?  Checking your petcock wouldn't be a bad place to start: http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1251932429/1

EDIT:  I didn't realize the link Verslagen posted was to the same article.  Must be a reason.  Wink

Do you have the, ’stock’, vacuum petcock?
If so, are the vacuum hoses in good shape?
Or perhaps the diagram, is leaking air ?
Perhaps switch to a ‘raptor’ petcock.  (See Teck Section)

Is you gas line hose kinked?
If you have a filter, is it clogged, and/or to small of gas line?

Is their water, in your gas ?
Have you filled with ‘E-85” gas ?

A breakdown of what modifications your bike has might help also...

How many times do we have to see this?

Let's start with basic information.
How can these carb gurus help explain what to change until they have an idea of what is there now?
Year model, miles, any modifications done, your elevation,
Did you make note of the jet while you were in there?
First bike, bold step, busting off into the carb.
Change anything about how it runs?
What kinda mechanical experience do you have?

Just spend some time, risk boring someone, tell everything.

We ARE trying to help...
DO THIS TEST    (click on the link below)
http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1251932429/1

The test above is the 1st step to finding out what your problem is....
once you have completed it (ALL OF IT), then tell us the results.
We will then fill you in on what else you will need to do to solve your issues Smiley
