Snapped ??? Naw.. He is simply aware of the mindset of too many of todays college kids.. Narcissistic, spoiled, and convinced of their entitlements.  Before I retired and moved I was involved with IT at several New England Ivy League universities.    One of my favorite run ins was with a student who demanded special  services. "Do you KNOW who my Father IS !!!"   "No. I'm sorry.. Don't you???"    AND having seen the quality of Texas A&M's recent graduates. Roll Eyes

I got a 49%

I didn't know a person was a verb.

I knew all the mountains, but none of the water features.

The first question messed me up. As a machinist I reference thou (.001) and tenths (.0001) all day.
But I vaguely recall being taught decimal, tenths, hundredths, thousandths...

That's just Loaded with trick questions.

When was the last battle of the Civil war fought?

As IF that sucka is Over..

Ohh, history and geography wrecked me, I did great foR the first seven.. then it got hit and miss, then, pretty much all miss.

Well, dang, went back to get the grade, I can't remember if it exactly, its below thirty,  but it wasn't below mid twenties.

ummm, 10ths is .1, .01 hundredths, .001 thousanths, how in the world could .0001 be tenths? well, it would be ten thousanths, so I guess that works  Undecided

machinists rarely talk about pennys (.01)  and dimes (.10) like school kids do.

.0001 be tenths? well, it would be ten thousanths

.0001 = One ten thousandth

at Ten one thousandths it stops Being ten thousandths measurements and is instead, 1 thousandth,,,   .001

He wasnt wrong, he just didnt wanna type needlessly,, well,, apparently, leaving some to "do th math" will not suffice.

define 'needlessly'
we're not all machinists, so 10 thousanths, to me, is ten thousanths Grin

I managed to get 62% correct. Not too bad for a Brit that has never studied US history, although the questions relating to the Balkans perhaps gave me an advantage. I answered the Romania question correctly, but I don't believe it is 'Balkan', maybe it was back then.

What age group would this exam be aimed at?

It's aimed at an 8th grader, so 12-14 years old
Few 8th graders today could pass it, an alarming number of them are functionally illiterate
