Roll Call for June 12-17th Dignified Rider's Run

http://www.blueridgemotorcyclecamp.com/
Wed June 10th - MMRanch staging visitors from the far West.
Thur June 11th -
Fri June 12th - Pack up and head to Blue Ridge Campground Oldfeller and Dave already there by cabin #4
Sat June 13th -
Sun June 14th -
Mon June 15th -
Tue June 16th -
Wed June 17th - Pack up and head home.
This is a slow safe and sedate cruise through the NC and Tennessee Mountains, checking out the scenery and having a nice safe and sedate time doing it. MM Ranch will be your cruise director on this year's trip, with Lancer, Verslagen and Dave along to keep it all properly moderate.
Go to the sticky on top of the Cafe marked "Dragon Run #1" and leave a message saying what days you will be attending.
Please do this soon, so we can plan appropriately ......

Dont know if I should ask here or in the main DR thread.. but here goes (this is waaay shorter thread)
So I asked my wife about this.. and she might be in
Questions:
are ladies welcome
would ladies feel out of place
are our Vstars (still welcome) and would they actually keep up.. as my 1100 is like turning a land yacht
is it too late to get a cabin? ( do you think)

Ladies are welcome....we behave well with or without parental guidance.
We have never been prejudice of what a fellow or woman rides, as long as the feeling is mutual and you aren't offended by a single cylinder bike outrunning you on the curves.
Don't know about the cabin issue....you would have to call and talk to Phil at the Blue Ridge Campround.

We are staying in cabin number four. ---- cabin number five right next to it is a cabin that has a single queen size bed and it is intended for a man and his wife.
Yes, by all means, bring her.
But call now if you want Cabin #5 -- it goes fast.

Pine (and Savage Friends)
Lynchburg Tn. is a 5 or 6 hour easy ride from the Dragon area . Lancer and Versey are staging here and you can too. My house isn't real big but we do have two bath rooms . Our hot water heater can deal with short showers with 30 minutes recovery time (+-). We can build a fire in the Fire-Pit and put cots (4) under a canape or car-port (two car size) ... Or .... camp-out in the living room with 5 recliners and a 60" TV ...???...
Deal is bring your own towel , sleeping bag and gear. I have 4 cots (and or) 5 recliners. I'm thinking short day ride the 11th , then throw some Hambuger steaks on the grill (salad + Taters) for dinner , then friday morninng (12th) pancakes and sausage before heading out to BlueRidge Campground. We can pass the hat for the food bill .
My wife may do a short day ride Thursday with us but not all the way to NC.
We keep our lives and language clean , thank the Lord for blessings and friends , and make the most out of the time we have.

Maybe some day.
I would like t see how the the riding is out there compared to here.
As far as Sisters vs Dragon, what I learned is that the Dragon is a constant series of turns, concentration all the way through.
The Sisters will lull you to sleep with flats and long easy sweepers, then smack you in the face with mountain hairpins and steep elevation changes.
Looking at street view.. Dragon has lots of trees to block your view and maybe stop you from going to far off the road .. some times.. but no guard rails
Sisters.. has guard rails, but once past those.. you better grow wings, real quick.

Actually, the Dragon has been rebanked and repaved so many times it is like a tilted raceway now and the road surface helps you stay in your lane as the tilt is always consistent with that.
The more challenging road is Hwy 32 -- it is NOT banked and is only on its first generation of pavement. 30 miles worth of constant Dragon or tighter curves, with no banking to help you.
Hwy 32 has had its lane marks removed at the turns by so many car tires scrubbing over the lines constantly ....
..... we take a good rest break after doing Hwy 32 as it gets flat tiring by the end of it
To help you find it using Google, Hwy 32 is at the NC/Tennessee boarder where I-40 crosses the line, it then runs up sorta parallel to I-40 but offset into the woods on the left hand side.
You can type in "Moraine Seminary Church, Cosby, TN 37722" into your favorite map program and it will plunk you down right on Hwy 32.

Tasty alright !
That kind of road will make my rear chew on my seat trying to get a grip !
but the grin factor at the next intersection is ill replaceable !

So far I don't see anybody committing to the Blue Ridge Campground part of the trip who isn't already on the main thread and all logged in and planned for.
If you are thinking about going, go to the main Dragon trip #1 thread up top and speak up.
Also, if you are in the middle states, you could just plan to drop by MM's place for the two staging days the boys are planning on being there and just meet and greet for a day.
Whatever you are planning on doing, SAY SO please.
