Finally time to do some work *Update (with pics)

So I plan to do some beautifying work this weekend and had a few questions. I wanna pull the covers and paint them. I've had the clutch cover off and know what's involved but haven't pulled the stator cover yet. My gasket kit came in so I'm solid there just need to know if there's anything to watch out for when removing the stator side cover.
Plans for the weekend since I'm off Sunday
45 tooth rear sprocket (up from 43)
Paint wheels red
Paint covers black
Install actual fork boots
Clean up a few back spots on frame from PO bobber build cutting
Install tach an speedo (bottom of tank tabs welded to frame)
Clean engine up
Paint on whitewalls (tires to new to replace with actual whitewalls)
Get rest of wiring squared away and tucked into fake oil can
That will probably consume most of my day between this list and random honey do's while I'm in the garage
So original question: anything I need to know about stator cover removal?

you gotta pull the kickstand
make a pattern of the cover for all the bolts and stick in it
there's no map and they're all different.
getting the cover off is tough, magnetic pull, and it's strong.

Don't rip all that stuff off. Pull something, clean, paint,
I don't know anyone who could do that in one weekend.

@verslagen1
Thanks that's what I needed to read. I planned on using the new gasket to make a pattern. Didn't know about the kickstand but the bike will be on the lift since the wheels and forks will be off. I just wanted to see if there were any special clips, springs or pins that I had to watch out for.
@justin
I plan on working back to front. The wheels being painted and rear sprocket swap were my main concern. Then after that was some welding/grinding on the rear frame section to clean it up. And while I'm in there welding tabs for my gauge installs. After that it's all cosmetic and can wait. I'm sure the wife is going to have a longer list than mine for me to do as well. We will see how much I actually get done if she leaves me be to work.
And of course all of this depends on the fed ex guy showing up with my parts. Delivery dates are late in the week and without the sprocket and o-ring chain the wheels don't come off. Welded is ready to go so worst case scenario I at least get to clean up the hack job on the frame rails under the seat and add the tabs for the gauges. Gonna try and get the fender cut down and remounted as well.

And on the starter idler gears....most likely a washer will stick to the cover and fall on the floor when you pull the cover off. The washer goes on the front (torqued limiter) idler gear. There will be one washer on the inside and one on the outside....no washers on the gear closest to the starter.

I know it's terrible. Since the bike will never be returned back to stock form I think I'm gonna cap the entire area off. The tubes are open and water can get inside which could be destructive down the road from internal rust. I wanna move the seat back a bit so capping the whole area off and welding in some spring bolts I can slide the seat back and throw some 2" solo seat springs on it and walla

3rd coat is about ready to be sprayed then I'll start on the front. Once the rear is dry time to install the 45 tooth sprocket and new brake shoes.

Couldn't get a feel for how truly awesome the red was until I removed the paper from the wheel. Let's just say I'm soooooo happy with poppy seed red!
