Tiger Direct closes all its retail stores

All retail locations of Tiger Direct are closing.

This includes all the "fusion" stores between Compu-add and Tiger Direct that took over all the Compu-add locations about 4-5 years ago. Tiger Direct will keep its on-line presence going as long as that on-line business remains viable.

This leaves Best Buy as the sole brick and mortar location dedicated to buying electronics.

So, this year we lost Radio Shack and Tiger Direct ......

I'd never heard of 'em until I saw this post. Looks like there's a couple, or was a couple in DFW area and also right along the TX-Mexico border in McCallen, Texas. I don't even like Best Buy. We do however, have Fry's Electronics which makes Best Buy look like a vendor kiosk in the Mall. Fry's has everything. PC Components to Home theater to Car Audio to Appliances, and even a in store cafe. Plus they have all the little components that Radio Shack had.

Best Buy has always seemed to be the most over-priced place to me.

Newegg.com is my favorite yet.

Built my first few computers using both of them.... saved hundreds of dollars.
