BobDog,

Just this morning I stopped at both NAPA and AutoZone to try and purchase a few of the big O-rings for the oil filter. Neither place had anything suitable.

Next week I am going to try the bearings wholesaler in town and see what they can come up with, but I will probably have to buy a whole bag full of them.

If it is the smaller O-ring that you are looking for, all of the auto parts wholesalers should have it.

You can buy the large O-ring from your Suzuki Dealer for $ 3.98 plus tax, the smaller O-ring is $ 1.36 plus tax.

If you don't have a dealer nearby and want to avoid the shipping cost from internet parts sellers....you can get the O-rings from eBay sellers shipped to you for less than it costs to run around looking  for an O-ring that may or may not work.

09280-15007 part number for small O-ring
09280-72001 part number for large O-ring

If it were me (and it is a lot of the time) I would either get the stock o ring:
http://www.bikebandit.com/oem-parts/1996-suzuki-savage-650-ls650p/o/m147804#s...
or get a assorted kit of various o ring sizes:
http://www.harborfreight.com/397-piece-metric-o-ring-assortment-67580.html
Not saying that's the exact set I would get, but it gives you an idea of what I'm talking about and they're fairly cheap. Search around some hardware and auto parts stores until you find a pack that looks like it has a few around the size you need. If it still leaks, use an o ring that has thicker rubber and so on. Not sure which o ring you need or if they even use sizes, but from what bikebandit says, you're looking for an o ring with a D=2.4 and ID=15.8 or 73. I'm guessing the unit of measure is mm? Hope this helps.

BobDog,

If you purchase the "Boxed" oil filter, both O-rings are included in the package.

Which Oring is being referred to in the above posts?

Is it the large one or the small one?

Part number? When I ordered my oil filter from Ron Ayers last time I didn't see an option for a oil filter kit and ordered the parts separately.

Gary,

When I place my order with Ron Ayers, the telephone clerk told me that the "boxed" version of the oil filter has the Orings, but they don't stock it.
They only stock the bulk version of the filter.

The small Oring should be available any place that sells hardware or automotive supplies.

The large Oring is the one that I am looking for.
