The heat shield from Amazon arrived today and I did a quick temporary install just to see what it looks like. I ordered an 1 3/4" x 7" and it will work. A 2" x 6" shield would be better.

Tomorrow I am going to loosen up the Harley clamps and turn them back about 90 degrees and at the same time rotate the heat shield clamps so the the fasteners are not showing.

Today I used Lancer's jet kit and jetted the carburetor and put in three washers on the top of the needle.

It was a bear removing the two tiny screws holding the needle retaining plate. I was able to adapt an old 3/8" drive impact driver to loosen the screws. When I was finished I decided "Never Again".

I found this on Amazon which should simplify the job if I have to do it again.
