decomp solenoid location/s

Hey guys, I got my tank done up just got to smooth out the weld a little and then get it ready for body filler and paint. I covered up the hole where the speedo sits on top and bottom sorta similar to what Dave has done on a tank. Afterwhich I realised I forgot all about the decomp solenoid and where it sat. Has anyone relocated it when they use other tanks. Dave what did you do or the guy that bought the tank? Here's the tank I still have to cut the stock mount tab off and fab a different one which will lower the rear about 3/8" and sit on the backbone better. lets see if i got this figured out

too many errors to explain -v1

I didn't know the decompression solenoid went up into the bottom of the speedometer hole?

We will have to ask the fellow who used it.....I will go look....it was Gdrseeker (not sure about exact spelling).

I just went out and put a stock tank on a parts bike frame and I took a picture.  I have no idea what is going on with your bike - if look at the photo you can see the decompression solenoid in the right side of the frame near the bottom of the tank.  The solenoid is lower than the front mount for the tank.

There is nothing on the frame under the speedometer - there is no clearance problem if the bottom of the speedometer hole is welded shut.

Does your hardtail conversion move the decompression solenoid?

Thanks Dave, now I remember where it sits in the space under the backbone. Yep we're all good again.
