Only passable rattle can paint job I ever did was Rustoleum
Since the factory paint on the car was pretty much refrigerator white, it worked ok, for spray paint
Lucky for me the Texas sun did a fair job of curing it

I had a friend in high school that was learning how to spray, and around 1972 he painted his Camaro with the Rustoleum that came in the gallon cans.

He did a good job and it looked really nice red color....no runs or sags, not much orange peel or overspray.

Unfortunately.....the shine disappeared after a couple of weeks and the car turned a dull flat red.  It looked like the eraser on the end of a pencil!

I used Duplicolor and SprayMax 2K on my bike.
I am quite happy with it.  I followed this process for the color coats...

One of the problems with rattle can paint is that it goes on somewhat thinner than a pro spray gun so you need to carefully build up some thickness, this process seemed to work well for me.
Here is a link to my build log page that shows the paint and there is a link in reply #47 for the best place and price to buy SprayMax 2K.

eXcellent site, Demin! After a lifetime of frustration and feeling of inadequacy in spite of trying,   painting has always just been that One Thing that is something everyone NEEDS to be able to do that has always eluded me. So, here we see not just accomplished painters, but designers of paint schemes, too. Aaaargh,,  Looking back, I should have been more determined and gotten help. Anyone who likes wrenching and building needs to be able to work bondo and paint.

There are no rattlecan paints that can withstand a splash of gasoline that sometimes happens when you put gas in the tank.

You can do a really nice looking job with Duplicolor with its clear coat, but it gets eaten live with a few drops of gas.

To see how mine turned out, see http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1304722902/360#363
