Clutch cable routing and air leak
03/14/15 at 11:08:48

Daughter's bike running ratty.  Did the carb-cleaner spray around the inlet flange and found engine idle changing with spray.  Seat and tank off and found carb being forced tilt-left by head breather hose and clutch cable jammed between the carb top and the right-hand frame.  Re-routing of the hose (easy) and moving the cable outboard of the frame took away the force and the air leak.  Just to be sure, removed the inlet boot to the air cleaner and slid the carb back to inspect , clean, and re-seat the carb.  All back together and miles ahead in getting this beast smooth.

Be sure the cable does NOT interfere with handle bars. The speedo cable and clutch cables are crammed in within a small space. Just double check that the clutch cable cannot bind and cause steering problems.
