Hey,

My Crankcase breather hose is no longer usable. It is now Cracked and very very brittle.

I want to replace this but I dont know what to ask for. I know it has an inner diamater of 1/2 inch. Any particular material.. etc?

What can i call this if someone asks?

Hardware stores have rolls of tubing..  Take it in and see if they have a replacement.

Unless you order the one from the factory.....it is hard to find the right stuff at your autoparts store.  Everything they had was the reinforced rubber hose and was bulky - they didn't have vacuum hose that large.  The hardware stores all had the stuff for dishwashers and water plumbing, and it was stiff when cold and not very heat resistant...the top of the head gets up about 300 degrees.

I ended up ordering 10mm Silicone Vacuum hose online as I could not find anything locally that would work.

Thanks Dave! I took a shot at some hardware stores and no go.

Just for the sake of having the first few rides into spring I taped up the cracked end (going to airbox) and ziptied it onto the plug. Hoping that will do until this comes through.

Since I am unfortunately up in Canada. The shipping prices are ridiculous.

I found this place
http://www.ontariobeerkegs.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=silicone-hose-3-8

Beer keg silicon hose for cheap that can withstand 500 F.

It's gotta make turns. You may need to keep it from closing off.

I cut mine off about halfway and put an Auto Zone vent filter on it. Zipped it to the frame under the seat. Plugged up airbox and seems okay. Been running a couple years. Size is impossible to find because proper size to fit engine nipple is to big OD to go through case hole.
