So I've been mulling this over in my head for a couple of days now. I have a brand new fuel tank and am installing a new fuel valve.

I will have to remove the fuel valve at a later date for paint.

Does anyone think Teflon tape is necessary/helpful on the threads on the valve that screw into the bottom of the tank?

Suggestions/recommendations are warmly welcome.

I hope that's not the case! Perhaps better to be safe than sorry. I guess there really is no harm if I put some on there to be sure?

use a product called"fuel lube" every wrench should have a tube it has hundred's of apps i am going to use it on the big gasket on the side to access the timing chain you will be able to take it off and on 3 or 4 times without replacing it and it is a great sealer .
it is going on the whole mating surface and o ring and bolts of my raptor thing when i install it.

Went to use it and as I threaded the valve into the tank, it came right off. Threads were tight! Guess I won't be needing it after all. Thanks for the advice.
