well i was riding VERY conservatively after I switched to reserve, I had no idea how much range I had, and I weren't taking any chances, it was cold and I was on a back road without as gas station for miles

. Wouldn't it be nice if there was a 4 gallon tank that would bolt up to a standard S-40 ? I'd almost re-locate the speedometer to make it happen.

I wonder what the capacity would be without the speedo in there?
I'd love a bigger tank, too, and personally, I think the speedo sucks where it's at, for a number of reasons, just like I think the location of the ign switch is effing stoopad

ooh, ooh, I know! move the peedo to the risers / bar, and put a little thermos sized can o gas in the resultant empty space

Someone posted a while back that the speedo hole adds about a quart to the capacity.
