ignition coil

so I'm looking at a couple of different electrical schematics. 1 is the schematic originally used for my motorcycle and the other is the one I'm going to use to wire it up now without all the nonsense on it.
I want to change the way the ignition coil is mounted to the bike but I don't know much about why it's mounted the way it is. It looks like it's either grounded or insulated from the frame,, I can't see it being grounded because the spark plug needs to be grounded on one side I don't know you tell me.?. the schematic basically shows -'insulated from- which is great but is there a minimum distance? i feel like there should be some room around the casing or at least the terminals.

both primary and secondary are connected to +battery.
primary goes to ground thru the TCI(aka CDI) or magic sh!t box.
secondary goes to ground thru sparky.
the frame may need to be grounded to prevent noise... not sure.
