I thought i remember reading a post somewhere about the differences between a 87 speedo mount on the tank & the mount on newer models.
Has anyone fitted a older (1987) on a newer tank?
just trying to find out what i need to do, before i buy a newer tank.

ok, i s'pose that I'll just have to find out, not in a rush. Just got a bunch of little parts in so that should keep me busy for a few hours....
it would be a learning experience....

The only change I am aware of with the speedometer...is the side stand light. Early speedometers had a light that can on when the side stand is down. Later bikes don't have that light (However the speedometer may still have the hole for it with a plastic plug inserted).

I'm pretty sure the S40 has a different cover plate than the LS650 as Ryca has two different plates...old style and new style. But it's only the shape of the plate
