Clutch slipping (Read 66 times)

Posts: 3	Clutch slipping 01/09/15 at 17:27:29 At end of riding season I noticed the clutch was slipping under acceleration in 2nd gear on my '87 LS 650. Anyone have specs for clutch friction plate thickness and clutch spring height? Using Rotella t6 oil. It is not the clutch cable adjustment.

California Gender:	Re: Clutch slipping Reply #3 - 01/09/15 at 20:13:59 Next, check the lever position on the case. there are 2 marks behind the lever, pull up on the lever and it should stop between the marks. If you're very close to the top mark, then you need to open the case and change the throw out rod. in the tech section index under... dum dum daaaaa clutch.

I searched "Clutch" several times , but wasn't using the correct search button and never was directed to the tech section CLUTCH. Will use the correct search button next time I am looking for info.
