Oh Yeah, Rub it in......YOU got to go for a ride!

I went out this afternoon and marked up a parking lot for paving bids, the work will be done in the spring/summer.  It was the first time in he last month the parking lot was not covered in snow....or the wind was so strong that the spray paint would blow away before it hit the pavement!

Glad you like the new helmet.

I got a new leather jacket from my wife, and my sister knitted me a wool thingy to cover my neck when it is cold.

Well send the jacket and the wool thingy down here, it was chilly.  Shocked

Who am I kidding?! It was in the 50*'s and not a cloud in the sky! Beautiful day in eastern NC! I just didn't get to ride far enough, that's my only problem. But any ride is better than no ride! Right? Right!  Cheesy

This does lead me to a new problem, what to do with my old helmet.  Undecided I really hate to throw anything away, especially when there is a little life left in it. What's the best way to store it? Just set it on a shelf somewhere?

Maybe I could send it to Dave for the jacket he's not wearing.  Wink

how old id that helmet? they do have a 'life expectancy' based on the EPS deteriorating over time, I reluctantly replaced my Shoei for this reason, and discarded it, after making it unwearable (a much more difficult task than expected, even a Sledge wouldn't so much as crack the shell)

That is a good question, I'm not really sure how old the helmet is, but it is pretty old, probably too old, to be honest. I bought it at a yard sale before I had a bike to use with my ATV.  And I've been on here since '08 so . . . who knows how long the other guy had it. Is there a way to find out, a date somewhere inside, assuming I can read anything inside of that dirty, stinky thing?

originally there would have been a tag inside with date of manufacture, but if you've had it since 08, the manufacturer would tell you to trash it, the life expectancy is only like 5-7 years

I had my old Shoei until the padding wore out and Styrofoam hurt my head...
I'm keeping my HJC 'till it does the same...

I do wash it once or twice a year with laundry detergent and the hose in the back yard...

I hate change,... and I really hate breaking-in new helmets... Grin...

I'm kinda like that too. This is the first new helmet I've ever had. But my storage space is limited. Might make a target out of one of the old ones. Sledge hammer didn't have much effect, Art said. I wonder what a 45acp would do.  Huh

Dunno about a .45, but a .357 will definitely defeat it  Grin
