I welded a stock tank to remove the speedometer hole.  Just takes some welding and body work skill.

I sold it to Gdrseeker in primer, and he got it painted and mounted on his bike.

You just welded a cover for that hole? Do you have images of how you did it?

Not much to photograph.  I will be doing another tank sometime in the next 6 months....I will take some photographs this time.

Don't grind the lip at the top of the tank away away - it makes for a very thin edge that is hard to weld to.  Instead cut he tank top away on the outside of the lip, and then cut the top portion of the speedometer hole down a bit to make room for the new metal at the top.  Drill some holes in the bottom of the metal around the speedometer hole so the space can store fuel...you will gain about a quart of fuel space.
