Used to take Dads Polaroid, out in the pasture. Aim it at the North Star, on a tripod. Smallest F-stop, Infinity, Shutter open.
Then after, 1/2 - 2 hours. Close the shutter, develop the film. And would have little 'curved' streaks of light, the N Star being the smallest. (Length of the curve, relative to length of exposes)
And even one in a while, a very slight streak across the photo. First time I saw it, thought it was a scratch. Later learned, it was Sputnik.
Wonder if the digital cameras, will capture the earth moving, (as per the stars), or just try to compensate, by making everything lighter?
