87 kill switch wiring

Newbie,here.
i just bought a 87 savage as a tinker/toy. The previous owner was a butcher, the right hand switches got broken is has 4 wires hanging out. I have a replacement switch ordered, but want to start the bike by "hot wiring" it. i have figured out how to get the starter to turn the motor over, and i wants to start. But soon as i let go of the started wire it quits.
i have looked at the wiring schematics, but not making sense, so i figured I'd ask.
I have the clutch switch bypassed, other than & as far as i know everything else is in place & working.
the picture is of the wires that would go into the kill/start switch.
What wires need to be connected, to get this silly thing to run?

Any help would be great.

Not sure why the wiring diagram doesn't make sense to you....there are only 4 wires that you have to figure out.

There are 3 wires that need to be hooked up for the bike to start and run, the 4th wires comes from the front brake light switch (white/black).

According to the wiring diagram...

1 wire is hot and goes to both the starter switch and kill switch.

So the org/wht provides power the coil & yellow/green activates the starter relay. so they do they both pull their power from the org/blk wire.

am i understanding this right.

Connect the org/wht wire to the org/blk, then touch the yellow/green to turn the motor over?

Yep.

Orange/black wire is the power source.  Confirm this with a test light or voltmeter.
Orange/white wire delivers power to the igniter (ignition module.
Yellow/green wire gets the starter all excited.

White/black wire delivers power to the brake light.
