Might be beating a dead horse here but I'll ask anyway:

What octane do you use in your bike?

I started using premium from Chevron on a buddy's suggestion for the detergents. Maybe it's just coincidence but the bike stopped starting right a month or so after.

You don't need premium in any engine that has less than 10 to 1 compression...
Buy regular... Chevron if you like Chevron...

A misconception is that higher octane fuel will give you more power. The truth of the matter is that your octane needs depend solely on the compression ratio and timing. Our bikes run super low compression (8:1? 8.5:1?) so we don't require anything more than 87 octane....ever. Anything more is a complete waste.

There's no problem that a full tank of gas and a sunny day can't fix!

As much as I dislike modern E10 fuels for the speed at which the fuel decomposes and causes corrosion issues.....it is very clean when fresh.  All grades have good detergents/cleaners.  Problems with clogged injectors and deposits on the back of intake valves are no longer common.

Use regular if you have the stock piston - and use premium if you have installed a Wiseco.

Recently I did a long term fuel storage test - and the Premium fuel showed phase separation first - it took only 50 days.  Some folks claim that Premium fuel is sold in far less quantity - so it sits in the fuel tanks at the station for longer periods of time, and may not be fresh when you buy it.

Interesting, I never considered how long it sat in the tank at the station. I figured it's premium so it had to be good no matter what. I do so much driving that the gas doesn't stay in my tank long enough to go bad.
