Grip Questions
11/09/14 at 08:57:29

I have a '13 and find the stock grips hard and uncomfortable. Grip questions:

1. I haven't been able to find instructions for remove and replace. Can someone point me to a good reference?

2. I found some conflicting data on size. 7/8", 1", or both?

3. I remember having some gel grips that were very comfortable back in the day (60's/70's). Can somone give me a lead on these, if still available.

Thanks.

The throttle grip has ribs, for some grips it would be better to sand them down a bit.

It's nothing
personal; the other
one came first.

1" handlebars, and grips are pretty much all 5-1/4" long.  You can get something like these Kuryakyn-style generics:  http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chrome-Hand-Grips-For-Harley-Davidson-Dyna-Glide-Soft...

The only old style comy grips that I know if are Gran Turismo style.  Most of those are 7/8's and wont fit, but Ryca makes a 1" variety.  http://www.ebay.com/itm/Motorcycle-Grips-Gran-Turismo-Grips-1-Black-Cafe-Race...

"You ride a single cylinder motorcycle??"

"When you're good, one is all you need." Wink

I guess that means I'm no good anymore; I've got 4 more cylinders! '08 Yamaha FJR1300 and still '01 Savage

A lot more to this video than just the hand grips, but I stumbled upon it a while back. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3_rckOeqsg&list=UUKfunKbvmTCc6X09_bdOnhg

Grips can be gotten off so you can reuse them.

search, grip removal, all, display 1 thread

here's a good one...
