I have 2 bikes 83 XS650 & 05 Savage. I know i am supposed to like the XS650 better, but for the around town ridding I do. The savage wins hands down

Just did a little research on the XS. It has a 360 degree crankshaft. Basically what you have is a big single with 2 cylinders!  Grin.

In case you didn't know, both pistons move up and down together. They don't fire together though. This, in effect, acts like a big single.

There's no problem that a full tank of gas and a sunny day can't fix!

I had a 1971 SX650 in 1972-76  it was about as easy to like as the Savage.  Cool      First gear would wheelie and 5th was geared to top-out about 140 something (tucked low riding) --- a power stroke ending and starting on 90 degree intervals made it smooth.   Fuel millage averaged +- 38mpg. wasn't so good.  A buddy on a Triumph 650 (one carb) used less fuel and would leave me during a 5th gear roll-on , but I could down-shift and leave him anytime.

I love my S-40 and also the Savage I  had before it .  Smiley
