Compression release lever travel
10/29/14 at 18:07:10
I think I outsmarted myself. I modified the replacement gas tank with a deep tunnel so it would sit low over the frame. It came out right aesthetically but now the compression release lever is not accessible. Question is: how much travel is needed to lift the valves? That is from when the lever first contacts the valve lifter “finger” til it actually does something. I think it would only be 30 degrees or so of rotation. I can add an adapter connector between the original cable operated lever and the aftermarket lever that will let the lever sit lower. Anybody help here?
Thanks,

Separate from back lever and rotate down like this:
