Rear Drum Brake Linkage Arm
10/26/14 at 07:38:51

I was wondering if anyone can give me some general tips on re-installing the rear brake linkage arm.  I know there is supposed to be some forward tilt to the arm, but I can't figure out how to get it back on there with forward tilt because of the spring.
Also, I can't get the arm to stay seated against the back of the splines.  As I tighten the bolt, it pushes the arm out.
BTW, it's a 2006 LS650.
Any help is appreciated.

No need for forward tilt...  mine don't...
Mine's slanted to the rear...

If it's tilted forward,.. yer' shoes are probably worn out...
There's a wear gauge molded into the hub... (if I remember correctly)... Undecided...

Isn't there a pinch bolt that runs in a groove on the spliced part poking out of the hub? If it's not on center of the actuator arm, then lining up the groove and pinch bolt will get the actuator arm inside and outside decision made for you.

Yeah you're right.  Since I was worried about having the arm kicked forward I couldn't get the spring to sit all the way back.  When I put it on without worrying about the forward tilt it went together just fine and the bolt lined up with the groove.  Thanks for your help.
