What's in your bag?

Saddlebag that is.  I am sure this has been brought up but since my searching skills match my math skills in their crappiness...

What do you keep in your saddlebag and how has it come in handy?

i dnt have bags but a fat crescent is it very useful thing to carry. Good for smashing things like heads and windows, yet versatile enough to fix your bike

When I worked, I needed to swap helmet for hat.

I'm in LaLaLand.  People will cut helmet straps and toss the helmet in the dumpster.  I have to lock up anything I want to keep.

Tools are in the fork bag up front.

Saddlebags hold rain gear, bungee cords,first-aid kit,LED flashlight, mesh and plastic bags to hold goodies I find along the way, extra socks, skivies and tee shirt, coffee thermos, snacks, meds, maps, a book or two for reading while relaxing under a shade tree, one of my handheld ham radios that also has broadcast FM and public service bands for keeping up with weather conditions and whatever else I may want or need.

Spare smokes, cell phone, note pad and pencil(remember ink does not work well in cold weather and dries out over time!) and a kick-stand coaster are in the windshield bag.

Also carry a "bungee net" in the saddlebags to hold stuff on the seat when bags are full or items don't fit in the bags.

Overkill you say??? Grin

No bags on my bike. But I generally carry a backpack with:

A rag for a wet seat
Work apron
Set of beach clothes
Phone charger (plus something that lets me charge off AAA batteries)
Tool kit (probably way more than I actually need)
Mints/toothpicks
Lens wipes
Helmet bag
Bungie cord
Ziplock bags
Pens
Lighter
Spare keys
Spare knife
Gloves to put under riding gloves if it's cold
Whatever book I'm reading
Sunglasses
Clear riding glasses

I've been slacking on actually carrying the tools now that I have roadside.
