Alright, I've got a few questions. This pic shows where I'm at in the tear down process. I took the tank off today but I ran into a problem. When I put the petcock in the 'on' position and removed the fuel line, gas still came out. No matter what position I put it in, gas came out. I had to pinch the fuel line with a vice grip to keep fuel from coming out. Any suggestions?

Another question.  Pulled the clutch cover. I've sent the cam chain tensioner to be modified. It won't be back for a while but I'm wandering what's the best way to remove the old gasket without doing damage to the engine?

Update on my Savage project.... Got the clutch cover gasket,  oil filter and header gasket.  Now I just need my Verslavy so I can start putting this thing back together.  I have absolutely no experience working on motorcycles but with the help of everyone on this website, I'm giving it a go.  Thanks everyone! !

I sanded my fenders and side covers.  I had a hell of a time getting the decals off the tank.   Finally used a heat gun and decided to strip the tank.

Received my Verslavy in the mail today.   He did a great job.  Time to put it back together.
