It must be conceded that by the time things do fall out the insides of the chain could be meeting each other.

Whatever caused one to fail.....most likely had some affect on the other one. Any indication what made it fail? Doesn't look like is was running lean or got too hot. Dave

IF , you can get that ring out of there.... file it till a new one fits, make sure the piston is a true circle and not oblonged there.
But yeah, while you have it off, new valves and piston.... if walls are good, you could rebuild with ease.
Find someone with good piston and exhaust valves...... get it running and resell if you don't want to keep it. Wink

If it's not cracked I suppose the groove could be cleaned, but if you don't want to spend on a piston you can only crack test and hope.

What happened to the head when the valve came off? The valve head had to be bouncing around in there until the engine stopped moving.
