Maaan ,atsa louzee deeel, dude. BUT! .None of that stuff costs a lot AND it's easy to do. The question I have is HOWCUM all that happened. I'm guessing it's a year model that doesn't have the kickback clutch,But why would the case get it? Before you throw in the towel, wait for the people who have been in there and replaced those gears.

Clean it up good. Put the pin in the hole. JB it up real good to give lots of support.  Let it cure good. Reassemble. Ride.

I ran out of gas and it didn't sound good when it was dying out but when I went to start it, it was a really bad grinding noise!!

Well, first off I don't understand what happend... It stalled due to running out of gas so I am going to assume it was being throttled at the time and the rpms were up, this would throw more momentum into the mix, causing a bigger kick back and thus the busted gears. It should have shuddered or given some warning as to needing to stop... But if it had momentum it should a over come the compression... Put a manual decomp on for strutting down it relieves the compression and dont run it dry...

It looks like the only piece the broke was the collar holding the pin. Take it to a machine shop. They should be able to fill that spot and then drill it leaving behind a collar...and if they reenforce it there will be no worries...

I just can't imaging that the MAJORITY of late models have broken gears. It must be fairly isolated...remember that this site condenses in gative info...

That sounds like a great idea for sure but I don't have $260 to spend on the gears and it not be able to hold where the guy fixed the case if I can get some one to do it!! I think I'm just gonna part it out or sell it and save for something new!!

No...It's not an isolated incident. It's fairly common on the 4 speed bikes.I just posted at the top of this thread,I'm going through the same thing.I got lucky it only broke a tooth off of my starter.
