Airhawk Seat Cushion

Anyone had experience with the Airhawk seat cushion? I suffer from 'numb' butt after about a half hour of riding. This cushion sounds like the answer.

It is pretty pricey. I would prefer a Corbin seat.

Quite a few here use and like them. I wanted something that looked a lot better, factory even, for less money. I chose to have my seat redone. I sent in pictures of me on the bike so he could see the pressure points, answered some questions on the order form, and sent in my seat. What came back was totally awesome. I rode to Massachusetts this year. I got stuck in traffic. It ended up taking nearly 12 hours. At least 9 hours of that was saddle time. My rear end did not hurt at all. My back did, but not my butt. I highly recommend it. Here is a link: http://greatdaytoride.com/FAQ.html

Pricing info:

How much does it cost:  For a two section seat the riders section comfort mod is $50, lowering at the same time is an additional
$10, the passenger section at the same time is an additional $25*. For a one piece seat the riders area comfort mod is $50,
lowering at the same time is an additional $10, the passenger area done at the same time is an additional $15*
"LD" upgrade pricing is based on the amount of Supracor used in your model, usually adds $25 to $35 (e-mail for quote)
(*passenger section/area pricing is only valid when done together with the riders section/area)

I'm quite happy with mine, I got the cheaper polypropylene version.

I got the Airhawk cruiser. About 100.00. It is pretty ugly, but it works well. I've taken a couple of 2-3 hour rides with and without it, and it definitely helps!  Some day when I get a lot of money I'll get a Corbin or something else.  Personally my thinking is no one sees it when you are sitting on it.   Wink

I have used an Air Hawk on my Savage for 10 years. It has done the trick on improving my riding comfort for several multi thousand mile trips. I do not leave home without it today,

I've been looking at the Air Hawks but I can't figure out from the website which size fits best on a s40 with the one piece seat. What size are you guys using?

Cruiser Medium.
I have them on both bikes. Love 'em!!!

Just remember to let almost ALL the air OUT.
Blow it up.  Sit on it, let air out until you almost bottom out.

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut between the seat and the handlebars. Make sure yours isn't too tight or too loose.

SP, this is just from my experience.  Save the money, I don't think it is worth it unless you can find a real good deal from someone here on the site.  My only other thought is I feel the sheep skin cover is worth the $.

Cool. Thanks for that. Here in AZ a sheepskin cover would be really a good idea in the summer.

Air Hawk II cruiser. I used one on a 1,900 mile plus trip with the stock saddle and was still able to walk after I got home. It helped a lot, but every butt is different.

Good hunting

I had an Airhawk cushion on a touring bike I used to ride.
They do work, but they are expensive and you have a "floating"
sensation while riding. I sold mine a while back, now I use a sheep
skin "butt-pad" $50 and works real well. The whole trick is circulation,
air under your butt and blood flowing around in it. The sheep skin
allows this to happen. The only down side is if they get wet.
