Actual muffler inlet diameter
08/16/14 at 14:38:35

I didn't see anything listed in the tech reference. I am wondering what the actual inlet diameter of our muffler is. Or the actual OD of the header. I don't have digital calipers or micrometers. I do know 1.75" is a little big. I am thinking somewhere around 42 or 43mm.

Header pipe connection surface is 1-11/16 measured with old mic. Smiley

Stock muffler ID is a little hard to measure due to the way it is constructed, but it was tight on the header so I'm going to say 1-3/4

What HD calls 1.75 is a bit larger and takes the extra cuts and can piece as shown in mods to work well.

Happy with mine... Smiley

Thanks. I suppose old school micrometers work too. Smiley

I have a Dyna muffler on it now. I've had a lot of different ones on there. I am thinking of something different this time.
