I did it

I've been looking at a Harley that's been for sale for a couple months and finally pulled the trigger. Traded the C50 for it so now I'm no longer a Suzuki owner. What I got is a 2006 Electra Glide with 13,000 miles on it. I got a good deal on it and it's in good shape. Came with a Harmon Kardon stereo that cranks pretty good. Rode it home from the dealer (about 70 miles) and it rides great on the highway. The bad part is that it shakes like a Harley at idle. Here's a couple pics.

I might have to try and work that into my schedule next year. I was also thinking about going to "Rolling Thunder" in Washington DC next summer. We'll have to see how things go.

Congrats on the new ride!

How you like having that big 'ol fairing in front of you?  I've always wondered what it would be like to have so much of the road blocked-off from view.

Love the extra lights up front  Cool

Not bad. I found myself trying to see the front fender once. Not a good idea when you're doing 70 on the highway. I'll get used to it.

Once you get use to having a fairing, it spoils you. I really feel the wind when I ride my S40 with small windshield versus riding my Street Glide. The fairing is definitely nice in cold weather.

Absolutely!  When the weather is good....the Cafe' bike is my ride of choice.  When the weather is threatening, the Honda ST1100 has a big fat fender and lots of bodywork to keep the water off me.

The only time I miss not being able to see the front tire is when I'm pulling into the garage.  I had to move some of the junk in the garage to keep from hitting it since my Vision is just a tad longer than my S40. Grin
