New oil leak after re-jetting and other mods
07/28/14 at 18:27:54

2006 with 6,000 miles...500 are mine
Last weekend I re-jetted the carb: 155 main, 52.5 Pilot, and 3 washers courtesy of Lancer. I also swapped the spark plug with an iridium plug, UNI foam air filter, and EMGO turn out muffler. I have been running Rotella T6 Synthetic. The bike is running much better with noticeable more power.
Took the bike out for about 15 minutes after I finished and no oil leak. Took it out a second time for about 45 minutes and now there is a slow  drip of oil from two spots. More so after riding then slows down after cooled off. I'm new to tinkering and am not sure what to call where it is coming from so I have attached pics. Where you see the drips is where it is coming from. I looked all around and above that spot and no trace of oil.

This is after about 3 days of sitting.
Also forgot to mention that I removed the air box and I have the Raptor Petcock to put on this weekend.

What did you do with your puke tube, the big one coming from the head?

I added a small breather filter to it. I haven't figured out where to route it to yet so I just placed it as close as I could to where it was originally.

When you take the front pegs loose to remove the exhaust, you can expect a temporary leak. tightening the peg/motor mount bolts down should have fixed it, you might just be seeing residual oil from loosening those bolts that's oozing down as your ride it.

Clean it up, check on it every other day to see if it's still leaking.

Thanks, I just went out to tighten them and they wouldn't grab just kept turning. Figured it wouldn't be a good idea to keep going. It is coming from the left side of the bike so I hadn't removed it before to change the exhaust.

Yeah, you need to have a wrench on both sides. I use a ratchet on the left side so when I turn it from the right side, the ratchet handle gets blocked up and holds the bolt in place.

Looks like you found the leak.

edit: I use a ratchet on the left side, box wrench on the right.

Yep, grab some wrenches and tighten your engine mount bolts.....it is a through bolt and you will need a wrench/socket on both sides to tighten it.
