Yous Guys.

Yous Guys.

It’s all your fault.  Here I am, relatively happy with my Yam XT-225.
It started, ran, very little maintenance, and totally reliable.
(Just hop on and ride)
But wanted something a bit heavier and more power.

But  NOT 800 + pounds and 1,400 CC.
Drove those, (my friends)
1. Way to big,
2. Would properly get many tickets, and perhaps a accident.

Researched, and a single Cyl, and 650CC, and 400- pounds,
sounded just right, so, bought the 06, S40, with 5500 miles.

Then looked around, and decided I needed to find a Forum, dedicated to those bikes,
(Like their is a Excellent one on the XT-225, and now the 250)

Read, learned, and adjusted. (and even posted some questions, and some smart A** remarks)

Tired of picking up Metric, late 70’s early 80’s, and fix for 10 ride for 30.
I wanted something I could just ‘Get ON, and Go”.

Well the S-40, wasn’t it. But, with proper, ’things’ it became such.

AND, I Liked it.  So much, that I started looking for another one.

And it is: ‘All Your Fault”, Everyone one of YOU.

I just HAD, to buy this one.
A 1997,  LS650, with 5600 miles.
Need’s new rubber.  (Original tires, can you image that)
Plus all the other little dingy things that need to be done.

For $650.00

But, it is Red, and we all know, “Red Is Better”.

Just remember, it’s ALL YOUR Fault.

Great looking bike and you stole it!   You might want to drill out the brass plug and richin it a little. From the looks of your header with that low of miles, I would say your running pretty lean. Eliminate the backfire

I still got one up the back of the shed, too. My Mrs' second bike (first is a PW50, still got it 25 years later), now our offspring is learning to ride on it. Good times.

Nope....I don't get it?

The serows are six species of medium-sized goat-like or antelope-like mammals of the genus Capricornis.

All six species of serow were until recently also classified under Naemorhedus, which now only contains the gorals. They live in central or eastern Asia.

The Japanese serow, Capricornis crispus
The Taiwan serow, Capricornis swinhoei
The Sumatran serow, Capricornis sumatraensis
The Chinese serow, Capricornis milneedwardsii
The Red serow, Capricornis rubidus
The Himalayan serow, Capricornis thar
Like their smaller relatives the gorals, serows are often found grazing on rocky hills, though typically at a lower elevation when the two types of animal share territory. Serows are the slower and less agile than members of the genus Naemorhedus, but they are nevertheless able to climb slopes to escape predation or to take shelter during cold winters or hot summers. Serows, unlike gorals, make use of their preorbital glands in scent marking.

Coloration varies by species, region, and individual. Both sexes have beards and small horns which are often shorter than their ears.

I'm on this forum on behalf of my wife, who is a Savage owner (she doesn't do the whole forum thing on the internet...mainly Twitter, Tumblr and Pinterest).

This is me and my bike back in 2010:

It's a Triumph, and I'll never not own at least one.  It's now 5 years old, and it has just under 8000 miles on it, and every one of them is mine.

OK.....Now I get it.

"The Yamaha XT225, or known in some markets as the Yamaha Serow, was a dual-sport motorcycle produced by Yamaha from 1986 to 2007."

You had a motorcycle named after a goat!  If things had worked out differently, we could be calling you "Dreambot", or "Apachebot", or "Shadowbot".....or "Thunderbot".

Well, if it any consolation, I did not mean, 'YOU', specifically.
I meant  ALL,  'Yous Guys".    LOLOL   Grin

Started on the, ‘deal’ this afternoon.
Took off the throw over, ‘pakistan made’, bags, and the little bag over the the rear.
(I do, NOT, think, The P.O.  EVER was in Boy Scouts !)
Seats off,  Drained crap gas, tank off.
Wring checked. (Wiring all looked good, no frays or rub marks)

Now waiting for Raptor peacock, and gaskets for the Clutch cover,
Have a new CCA,  (Thanks verslagen), was going to use it on the 06,
but I’ll just get another one.

Cost, 300.00  +/-  for rubber, (knew this)
About 200.00 for CCA, peacock & Gaskets. (knew this)
so, (aside from labor) add 500.00 to the 650.00

That’s 1150.00, not a steal, but not bad.
(If I find nothing else major)

At this point I am thinking the,
'07 XT-225, '06 S40, '97 LS650,
Are probably 2/3's the way their to a new Triumph Scrambler.
Cool
